The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf Debut
This young athlete maintains impressive online presence
Kai Trump can count on numerous well-known supporters as she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, operates multiple international courses and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa practically suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in just three tournaments recently and holds the 461st position in AJGA listings.
However she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, who is dating her mother.
"He is the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive person. He told me to go out there, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face multiple top competitors in the sport at the competition, featuring world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that involving Kai exposes the sport to wider groups, particularly with younger fans.
Kai has substantial online presence and recently launched her own apparel and wellness brand.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
