Eulogies Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.
More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the duo.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director
Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to express about his deep grief.
"Enough time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started spending more time together I knew this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes wrote.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted
Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to block the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate issued a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" associated with the probe.
The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
Aftermath and Reactions
After the killings, public figures expressed divergent reactions.
Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering provocative claims that were met with immediate backlash by many individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the critics recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the comments as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a worrisome absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by remarking that an associate could have acted when the choice to comment on the tragedy was made.
