Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
