British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
