Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
