American-Palestinian Teenager Freed After Nine-Month Period in Israeli Detention

An American-Palestinian adolescent who spent nine months in Israeli detention without charge was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.
United States authorities applauded the news of Mohammed's release.
Now sixteen years old, needed medical care right after being freed, family members reported.
They said he is visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.
Through an official statement, family spokesperson expressed the family's "tremendous relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Currently, we're concentrating on providing Mohammed with urgent medical care he requires after being subjected to harsh conditions and inhumane conditions for months."
The state department announced ongoing to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.
{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," officials stated.
A group of American legislators endorsed a document to the state department and the administration, demanding more be done for his freedom.
Mohammed's parent, with four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard about his son's condition via legal paperwork.
He stayed without charge at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.
It is also home to grown detainees, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations including killings.
Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, and international organizations, document cases involving physical abuse and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials succumbed to assault by settlement residents following tensions during summer.
During that period, the Israeli military said they were examining information regarding a civilian was deceased.
Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.
No one has been charged regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We demand the American government to safeguard our relatives," the uncle stated.
